The Cyberinfrastructure and Convergence Research (CICORE) Division provides expertise in data science, AI, and advanced computing to partnerships and projects focused on achieving scientific and societal impact. 

We have a passion for solving complex, data intensive problems and a commitment to developing the next generation of technological leaders. The CICORE Division is known for its broad expertise in cyberinfrastructure; domain-specific expertise in AI-enabled science; successful partnerships with policymakers, practitioners and industry; and experiential education initiatives.

Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis

Founded in 1997, the Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA), led by Kimberly Claffy, conducts network research and builds research infrastructure to support large-scale data collection, curation and data distribution to the scientific research community.

HPGeoC

The High Performance GeoComputing Lab (HPGeoC) and Intel Parallel Computing Center, led by Yifeng Cui, is conducting research and development in high performance computing, data intensive computing, and grid computing to support geoscience applications, with particular emphasis on computational seismology.

Structural Bioinformatics Lab

Peter Rose is the Director of the Structural Bioinformatics Laboratory at SDSC. Since joining SDSC in 2007, his group built the RCSB Protein Data Bank to its current strength as a key resource in biology and drug discovery.
