Women in Global Science and Technology

One of the main goals of GSD is to promote international collaboration and coalition building among women scientists and technologists. It does this through WIGSAT - a network of women scientists and technologists around the world. The Women in Global Science and Technology network grew out of GSD's aim to extend the body of knowledge concerning gender issues relating to the theory and practice of science, with a specific focus on the role and advancement of women scientists (particularly from developing countries) and their influence on the formal structures of scientific organizations. WIGSAT attempts to facilitate this through the exchange of information and communication for project and research development and to generally increase North-South and South-South contact between women scientists.
