Weaving Upholstery Fabrics

A few years ago, I noticed that antique car owners have a hard time finding original upholstery fabrics. Since my husband is one such owner, I promised to weave upholstery fabrics for him. Please see the sample for a BMW-Isetta 1959.

I am getting more swatches that need to be woven or replicated: mostly for Isetta, Loyd and Borgward. If you have such fabrics or questions about any type of upholstery fabrics, please email me.

Besides weaving upholstery fabrics I am intersted in creating decorative weavings for home. In 1990, when I renewed my interest in weaving, I concentrated on learning techniques. My favorite technique is "Huck Lace" which is delicate and simple for home decoration. Currently, I spend more time designing via computer. Even if I like the design on the computer screen that does not mean that I am satisfied with the outcome from my loom. It is a challenge. That is why I love to weave and design.

I am a member of Complex Weavers, Palomar Handweavers and San Diego Creative Weavers' guild. I have a 16 shaft AVL compu-dobby and Woolhouse table looms. I would recommend both looms to anyone interested in weaving.

If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail me.
