| All of the textured pictures on the walls of this virtual gallery were
generated using a tool I wrote called
im2wrl which uses the
SDSC Image Tools to read any supported image file format
as input, then it writes a bump-mapped 3D geometric representation of
the image in
VRML 97 format. The perspective and scale of the room is an illusion created by a special floor grid which was generated using a Perl script that I wrote called wrlgrid. The VRML gallery was designed to run on an SGI Reality Engine graphics system. Since it is too large to load on any desktop machine, I have included a larger screen-dump to look at online instead: gallery_big.jpg. |
