Tiger in the wild!
Comet Hale-Bopp, a tree, the Pleiades star cluster, and the
overexposed crescent moon are framed by the glow from the city lights
of Escondido, California. This 3 minute exposure was taken on 9 April
1997 at 9:12 PM on ASA 100 film with a 55mm lens at f1.8. Click for a
screen-sized image (130KB).
This picture of comet Hyakutake was taken near Poway, California, on
27 March 1996 at 1:30 AM PST on ASA 400 film with a 10 minute
exposure, same camera as above. (The general background brightness at
the center of the image is an unfortunate artifact of the scanning
process; the original negative has a much more uniformly black
background.)
On the right is one of the most interesting neckties I wear.
Our cat Tiger needs lots of water on her inside to compensate for the
dry furriness on her outside. We accommodate her needs by providing
her with a water bottle to drink from.
Here's a more casual picture of me from 1995.
