Can I read my data during the HPSS archive migration?

Starting in August, SDSC will start migrating data in phases.  During your phase of migration, you will not be able to read your data to allow us to move your data effectively with minimum system impact.  However, if you have an urgent need to access a file during this phase, contact consult@sdsc.edu, and we will retrieve the file for you.

During the evaluation period in July, when you are deciding which directories to migrate, we encourage you to work from the list provided by SDSC rather than accessing HPSS.  Please do not to move your own data.

You will be given an opportunity to verify your data when it has been moved to SAM-QFS disk, before it is archived to tape.
