Sierra User Guide: System Access

As a FutureGrid computing resource, Sierra is accessible to FutureGrid users who are given time on the system. In order to get an account, users will need to create a FutureGrid portal account and submit a project request. Interested users may contact FutureGrid User Support for assistance.

Logging in to Sierra

Only Secure Shell (ssh) login is provided for Sierra. Users may upload their ssh public keys via the FutureGrid portal under My Portal Account.

To log in to Sierra from the command line, use the following hostname:

sierra.futuregrid.org

Following are examples of Secure Shell (ssh) commands that may be used to log in to Sierra:

ssh <your_username>@sierra.futuregrid.org
ssh -l <your_username> sierra.futuregrid.org
