Register now for TeraGrid '07 conference June 4-8

— Subhashini Sivagnanam

The TeraGrid '07 committee has organized an exciting program this year with a wonderful array of invited speakers, including Anita Jones, Dan Atkins, Paul Strong, Phil Maechling, Ray Rose, and Charlie Catlett.

In addition to featured speakers, the conference will offer 13 tutorials; peer-reviewed papers on science, technology, and education, outreach, and training; and BOF sessions on a variety of topics. High school, undergraduate, and graduate students can participate in an on-site competition.

Limited scholarship opportunities are available for people needing travel assistance to attend. Registration fees go up $50 after May 4.

See the The TeraGrid ’07 Web site for additional information on registration to attend the conference or to participate in the student competition.

that Home directories should not be used for Batch jobs
Home directories are good places for login scripts and source files.Because it is NFS-mounted (slower than GPFS), this area is not suitable for storing large amounts of output from batch jobs. Increased home directory quotas for non-I/O intensive work and CVSROOT area for storing CVS directory trees are provided upon request. Users can request the CVSROOT area by emailing Larry Diegel
