Introduction to and Optimization for SDSC Systems

About workshop:

SDSC has a nationally known reputation for providing researchers with a solid introduction to the benefits of high-end computing.

The "Intro to & Optimization for SDSC systems" workshop will be held on Oct 16-17, 2006 in room 279, SDSC. The workshop aims at providing researchers with an introduction to the SDSC systems and also discusses various optimization techniques for our systems.

The tentative schedule is now available online.

Registration Information:

Registration is open from September 15, 2006 at http://www.sdsc.edu/us/training/register.php

Registration will close on September 30, 2006 and applicants will be notified by October 2, 2006.
There is no fee required to attend if the applicants have an university or a non-profit affliation.

Southern California AAP workshop

The second Southern California AAP workshop for UC San Diego (Including school of medicine & Scripps), UC Los Angeles, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, & UC Riverside users is to be held on October 30-31, 2006. More information about this workshop and the schedule will be available soon in our training website.

Did you know ..?

Always use MP_INFOLEVEL environment variable or the -infolevel option when you invoke POE to help trouble shooting abnormal job termination problems, for example:
cp: cannot stat `/dsgpfs/username/dir1/program': A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
ERROR: 0031-250 task 160: Terminated
Setting either of these to 6 gives you the maximum number of diagnostic messages when you run your program. - Eva Hocks.
