About SDSC Services
Our Mission
The mission of the User Services Division is to support and enhance the computational science and engineering research of the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) communities of today and tomorrow. Our staff helps users develop efficient High Performance Computing (HPC) applications and utilize SDSC resources effectively by:
- characterizing and benchmarking HPC systems
- improving the user environment of SDSC systems
- analyzing the performance of SDSC workloads
- evaluating programming tools, applications, and libraries
- supporting production software and research programming tools for HPC applications
- supervising the allocation of resources
- consulting and collaborating with users
- providing training to potential and current users
- providing educational materials and opportunities for teachers and students
- developing technical documentation for using SDSC systems, software, and services
- participating in relevant research projects in computational science & engineering and in parallel tools & environment
- providing data resources such as: public data collections, database hosting and publication, portals, libraries, data management, data mining and analysis, visualization, and data preservation and long-term storage
