SDSC Allocated Resources
SDSC provides a wide range of computing and data resources for the science and engineering research community.
Compute allocations are available on three platforms: DataStar, an IBM Power4 running AIX configured for data-intensive computations; the SDSC IA-64 Linux Cluster; and IBM Bluegene/L. Disk and archival tape storage are available from our High Performance Storage System (HPSS) and SAM-QFS, which may be accessed from the compute platforms by users with compute allocations or independently by users with database, data storage, or data collections allocations. To facilitate data management, Storage Resource Broker (SRB) is available for data and compute allocation users.
