About the SSRL/SLAC Project
The project is in collaboration with MacCHESS , the SDSC (San Diego Supercomputer Center), and four user groups from the laboratories of Professor Douglas C. Rees (California Institute of Technology, California, USA), Professor William I. Weis (Stanford University, California, USA), Professor John E. Johnson (The Scripps Research Institute, California, USA) and Dr. Prasanna R. Kolatkar (University of Singapore, Singapore). By collaboration with MacCHESS, users of SSRL and MacCHESS will be able to use the same Collaboratory applications at both synchrotrons. The test user groups will participate in the design and testing of the system. SDSC will provide data storage and computing resources for the project.
Role of Storage Resource Broker in SSRL/SLAC
Usually users bring their crystals to the stations and collect the diffraction images from the crystals. The data that users store at SRB are mostly these diffraction images.Users use the code developed with Python and SRB's Scommands. It is a Unix command line based program.
Project Status & Milestones
  • Continue support of the SSRL image archive
  • Continue collaborated with SSRL for the development of a web-based interface of SSRL users collections.
  • About 800+ Gig bytes of data stored in SRB.
