System and Cluster Administration
SDSC provides system administration for servers and clusters colocated at SDSC or located elsewhere on the UCSD campus. Standard support includes operating system and software patches and updates, along with business-hour monitoring and hardware repair in accordance with vendor warranties.
SDSC strives to efficiently provide a secure, stable, and cost-efficient operating environment through centrally maintaining a number of supported base reference system configurations (Linux, Solaris, and Windows) that can be applied to customer-supplied hardware. Other non-reference machines can also be hosted and administered on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
