Resources, Services & Expertise
The mission of SDSC is to transform research and education at UC San Diego and across the nation through pioneering cyberinfrastructure innovation, development and expertise. For UCSD researchers and educators, this mission makes SDSC a cornerstone for the technologies and opportunities in data and storage management, high-performance computing and data analysis, and other capabilities delivered by experts with national experience.
SDSC offers a variety of cyberinfrastructure resources, services and expertise to researchers at UC and UC San Diego. Our datacenter houses a wide range of computational resources, and continues to make leading-edge resources available to the UCSD and broader UC community.
Computing resources include the new Triton Shared Computing Cluster—consisting of a high-speed data analysis facility for memory-intensive projects, a compute cluster to support a broad range of research and a preservation environment for large-scale disk storage.
For researchers who purchase their own IT equipment, SDSC offers energy-efficient colocation in its 19,000 square foot secure datacenter.
SDSC provides system administration for servers and clusters colocated at SDSC or located elsewhere on the UCSD campus.
SDSC stores various public and private data collections at the center, including sensitive data, secured to meet regulatory requirements. Storage is available in a number of formats, and various applications and interfaces can be hosted to provide integration with user services.
SDSC supports users with all aspects of web and database management.
SDSC has a wide spectrum of experts in databases, data management, high-performance computing, visualization, systems administration and other cyberinfrastructure technologies.
SDSC's high-tech conference rooms, auditorium, training lab, and visualization facilities may be reserved for your next event.
