This home page is a SUPPLEMENT to the book "A Cookbook for Serving the Internet UNIX Version" written by Phil Bourne of the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC). The book was published by Prentice Hall (336 pages, ISBN 0-13-519992-1) on February 7, 1997. The page is an entry point to the many on-line resources found in this book and a starting point for finding information when you are establishing either an ftp (basic or enhanced) server, Listserver, or Web server. The global recipe (left on frames capable browsers) is organized according to the logical steps to be follow in developing an information server. The menu (above on a frames capable browser) is a more direct route to useful links and other information. You are encouraged to contribute to this resource via the Reader's Corner.

This is an example of an "Internet Enhanced" book. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

If you have come across this page, not by way of the book, but by a net search or other means, I hope you find this a useful reference source.
