Software Catalog
This software catalog is maintained semi-automatically. That is, programmers may
complete a deposition form to register software. When they submit the form the
software is classified according to their submission and the entry immediately
made available via the Web and ftp.
If an entry becomes obsolete a request may be made to the Editor to have it removed.
Software is organized in one of two ways:
- Alphabetically by name
- By functional area
Obviously much software does not fall within a single functional area.
Right now these types of programs are classified as either a package
or miscellaneous. For example, Shelx or Xtal would be considered a package
PDB2CIF (a filter to convert PDB files to CIF files) miscellaneous.
