SDSC Hosts Inca 2.0 Workshop

The San Diego Supercomputer Center hosted 20 researchers and engineers from organizations around the world for the Inca 2.0 User Workshop held February 23 and 24. Workshop participants learned about Inca 2.0, which was pre-released in early February, and engaged in hands-on sessions to customize Inca installations.

Inca is a flexible framework for the automated testing, benchmarking and monitoring of Grid systems. It includes mechanisms to schedule the execution of information gathering scripts and to collect, archive, publish, and display data.

The Inca 2.0 pre-release has many new features including improved archiving, installation and configuration control as well as reporter resource usage monitoring. Feedback from this user workshop will be used when finalizing a production version of the software and documentation.

Inca is supported by SDSC, the National Science Foundation Middleware Initiative (NMI), the TeraGrid project and the Performance Modeling and Characterization project (PMaC).
