Online Gaming for Fun and Education

Tapping into the power of the interactive online world, Education Director Diane Baxter and Visualization Director Steve Cutchin of SDSC are collaborating to create the Science Exploration Project, an innovative, multi-user persistent educational community that combines both the fun of online game-playing with friends and exploring activities designed to simulate educational growth. Target audiences are 4th-12th graders. Game modules shown include Build a Star, Visit Ancient Stonehenge, and Explore the Earth.
