Following an ElectronAnimations from the San Diego Supercomputer Center's Visualization Services department were featured on The Science Channel's chemistry episode of the "100 Greatest Discoveries." This image is from an animation of an artist's rendition of electrons traveling around an atomic nucleus. Using the TeraGrid network, each 15-second animation took an SDSC visualization researcher an average of 10 hours to create and 128 processor-hours to render. Image courtesy of N. Rubin, S.
