National Stewartship of Digital Collections
SDSC's advanced data preservation technologies are helping ensure that vital national digital collections remain available for future generations. In collaboration with the Library of Congress (LoC), SDSC will help preserve digital images such as (left) this archival scan of the October 31, 1915 New York Times showing a suffragette march (American Memory collections, memory.loc.gov), the type of content being assembled for the National Digital Newspaper Program by the Library and NEH, and (middle) this 1909 photograph "Peasant Girls" by photographer to the Tsar S. M. Prokudin-Gorskii; note red/green/blue images recreated from his early color separation camera. In collaboration with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), SDSC is preserving (right) this digital scan of a document signed by Napoleon Bonaparte for the Louisiana Purchase of 1803.
