Computational Challenges in High Throughput Biology

In the past few years, new laboratory technologies and increased automation have resulted in an explosion in the rate of acquisition of biological data. Sophisticated computation has become critical to an integrated, global, high-throughput molecular biology research environment for the acquisition, management, and analysis of this data. We will describe some of the computational challenges we have faced and the scientific results we have obtained at the Whitehead Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research.
