Discovery Net: Towards an Infrastructore of Global Knowledge Discovery Services
Discovery Net is one of the UK e-science pilot projects aiming to
building up an infrastructure for global knowledge discovery
services. In this talk we present the design and development of the
Discovery Net and our experience in developing and using such an
integrated environment for data integration, analysis and mining. In
particular, we will focus on the design and implementation of an
advanced workflow system for composing dynamically services and
applications in large scale scientific knowledge discovery such as
functional genomics study, drug discovery and environmental study.
The San Diego Supercomputer
Center (SDSC) is a research unit of the University of California,
San Diego, and the leading-edge site of the National Partnership for
Advanced Computational Infrastructure. SDSC researchers conduct studies
in computational science, develop high-performance computing and networking
technologies, and participate in NPACI activities.
