QUEST is used to display the QUEST sub-menu which allows you to specify the logical combination of tests which will constitute the search question.
Example
Suppose you have composed two tests T1 and T2.
Note that the logical operator .AND. is surrounded by a red box since it is the default operator.

In the dialogue area we have:
The current QUEST line is: QUEST Please select a test or a logical operator. Select "START-SEARCH" to begin.
In the dialogue area we have:
The current QUEST line is: QUEST T1 Please select a test or a logical operator. Select "START-SEARCH" to begin.
In the dialogue area we have:
The current QUEST line is: QUEST T1.AND.T2 Please select a test or a logical operator. Select "START-SEARCH" to begin.
VERBOSE results in the use of .AND. .OR. .NOT. in the question line.
If, on the other hand, you select TERSE then in the question line there will be + , - instead of .AND. .OR. .NOT.
At this point if you select START-SEARCH then the search is initiated.
