Function

DEL-REP allows you to delete the brackets and multiplier around a repeat unit in the structure.

Remarks

If your structure contains no repeat units then DEL-REP is greyed in the EDIT menu so that you cannot select it.

Example

Select DEL-REP

If you have only one repeat unit on the screen, its multipliers are automatically deleted. However, in the case of (i) below, there is more than one repeat unit on the screen, so the program prompts:

Please select any atom in the required REPEAT:

Select the C atom in the right-hand repeat unit

The repeat unit brackets and multiplier around the C atom in the right-hand residue are removed from the screen, see (ii).

If you select an atom which is not in a repeat unit the program will sound an alert and produce the message:
```
ERROR - That atom was not in a REPEAT.
```
