COLOUR ELEMENT, COLOUR HIGHLIGHT AND COLOUR MONO

These display commands are located in the 3D display for each hit.

They allow you to colour the 3D crystal diagram in various ways.

ELEMENT

Ex.

• Select ELEMENT

• Elements in the 3D crystal diagram are colour-coded as follows:
  • green
    • carbon
  • white
    • hydrogen
  • red
    • oxygen
  • blue
    • nitrogen
  • yellow
    • sulfur
  • magenta
    • all other elements

  Note that ELEMENT is the default for the COLOUR commands and is in use when the first hit is displayed.

Ex.

• Select HIGHLIGHT

• If the search question involved a structural fragment then the fragment is highlighted in red while the rest of the 3D crystal diagram is coloured white.

  This parallels the highlighting of the search fragment in the 2D chemical diagram.

Ex.

• Select MONO

• The complete 3D crystal diagram is coloured white.
