Volume 2 Chapter 1 Build Menu DEFINE-STRUCTURE
DELATM is used to delete one or more atoms and their associated bonds.
DELBND is used to delete one or more bonds.
Example
Suppose the drawing area contains (i).

Select DELATM again if you have more than one atom to delete .... OR .... Use cursor to select ATOM to be DELETED (Select CANCEL if you don't want to delete any atoms)
If you select an atom, the atom will be deleted and the red box around DELATM will disappear. The program now expects you to select another command. If, however, you want to delete many atoms, it is more efficient to select DELATM a second time.
The fragment is now as in (ii). DELATM remains switched on (red box stays visible).
The fragment is now as in (iii), i.e. O has been deleted together with its bond. You should note that if the program state is DRAW and you delete the active atom then the program state switches to MOVE.
You can keep on deleting atoms until you select CANCEL (or until you select something other than an atom), then DELATM is switched off, and the red box disappears.
Select DELBND again if you have more than one bond to delete .... OR .... Use cursor to select BOND to be DELETED (Select CANCEL if you don't want to delete any bonds)
If you select a bond now, the bond will be deleted and the red box around DELBND will disappear. The program now expects you to select another command. If, however, you want to delete many bonds, it is more efficient to select DELBND a second time.
Select N - N bond
The fragment is now as in (iv).
As you did not reselect DELBND, the bond is deleted and the red box around DELBND disappears. The program now waits for you to select another menu command.
