3.1.6 SEARCH Menu

The SEARCH menu gives you access to all non-fragment-based features of the QUEST program. From this menu you may also choose various "control" features of the program, such as which output files will be created and saved during your search.

You should note that a search which involves a fragment-based (connectivity) test may be performed entirely from within the BUILD menu, unless you wish to modify the default print style, request one or more SAVE options, or modify any of QUEST's other control parameters.

3.1.6.1 TEXT Sub-menu

This sub-menu allows you to define tests to search any of the textual items of information stored within the database. For example, you may define a test to search for all entries whose compound name contains the word "penicillin".

3.1.6.2 NUMERIC Sub-menu

This sub-menu allows you to define tests to search any of the numeric items of information stored within the database. For example, you may define a test to search for all entries whose space group number is 200.
