DUMMY is used to setup the coordinates of a dummy point.
We specify a dummy point in terms of point 1 and point 2 ; then a distance d (in Å).
The dummy point will be located by extension of the vector 1-2 at a distance dÅ from point 2.
Note that points 1 and 2 need not be bonded.

Dummy points are automatically named Dn with n=1 to 9.

This line is displayed in red to indicate that it is a SETUP command.
If INSTRUCTIONS is toggled 'ON' then in the fragment the bond 5-6 is coloured red and a red arrow, labelled D1, indicates the vector to the dummy point D1.
In the dialogue area we now have the "home" prompt:
Search for ALL crystal fragments OVERLAP of crystal fragments permitted Select a menu command or TO-BUILD to return to the BUILD menu.
The resultant command in the instruction document is:
