Volume 2 Chapter 1 Build menu EXIT
FASTQUEST is used to initiate the search process.
Remarks
If you select the command QUEST to display the QUEST sub-menu then defined tests can be combined in all valid logical combinations using .AND. .OR. .NOT.to constitute the search question.
On the other hand, FASTQUEST will combine all defined tests using the .AND. logical operator.
However this procedure is subject to a warning (see Exs.2 and 3 below). which safeguards you against automatic linking of tests by .AND. which could produce a nonsensical search question.
Note that using FASTQUEST rather than QUEST does not result in a faster search process - it merely speeds the specification of the question logic.
Examples
Ex.1 Suppose that only one test has been defined.
Ex.2 Suppose that two tests have been defined - one connectivity test and one non-connectivity test.
QUEST Search Logic 2 tests have been defined, of which 1 is a fragment Are you sure you want to logically AND all these? [Y]
Ex.3 Suppose that two tests have been defined - one connectivity test and one non-connectivity test.
QUEST Search Logic 2 tests have been defined, of which 1 is a fragment Are you sure you want to logically AND all these? [Y]
